As Christmas markets across the UK welcome visitors once again, new research has highlighted a significant rise in interest nationwide.
Italian restaurant Lucia analysed average monthly online searches for “Christmas markets” between 2022 and 2024 and found that interest has surged most sharply in Northern Ireland, where searches rose 90%. Scotland followed with an 83% increase, with England third at 22%, and Wales at 19%.

Regionally, London stands out as the UK’s biggest festive draw. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland received an average of 201,000 monthly searches in 2024, more than three times that of the second most searched market, York (60,500). Edinburgh and Manchester followed jointly in third with 49,500 searches each.
