“Whimsy-maxxing” is all about injecting maximum playfulness and childlike joy into everyday objects, and it’s a huge trend on socials right now, #whimsy alone has racked up 549k posts, with more specific tags like #whimsymakeup (3.4k) and #whimsymaxxing (3.3k) already gaining traction. People are bedazzling water bottles, phone cases and perfume bottles, layering charms onto bags and swapping plain mugs for novelty ones just because they make them smile.

Stick gem or rhinestone stickers straight onto your everyday products, your moisturiser, your compact, even a flat sheet mask. It’s the exact look blowing up on TikTok right now, it costs next to nothing, and it takes minutes to do.
2. Dress up the prep, not just the products
Swap your plain spa headband for a bow, scallop-edge or gem-trimmed one before you start your makeup or skincare. It’s a two-second change, but it turns “getting ready” into its own little moment before you’ve even picked up a product.
3. Add a charm to your routine
Bag charms have gone mainstream, so hang one from your makeup bag zip or brush roll too. A ribbon, a bead or a seasonal charm all work, and you can swap it as often as you like.
