Thousands of Oasis Tickets Already Resold at Face Value Ahead of July Tour Kick-Off

Oasis fans are being urged to follow guidance to avoid exploitative platforms such as Viagogo, and only re-sell and purchase tickets through the tour’s official partners.

Richard Davies, founder of face-value resale platform Twickets, which is the official resale partner for the Oasis tour, said profiteering from fans’ loyalty is still rife on unauthorised sites, despite artists’ best efforts. Davies said:

“While some resale websites may appear to offer hundreds of tickets, fans should be extremely cautious. Many of these listings are speculative, the seller doesn’t actually have the tickets yet, or worse, entirely fake. It can be tempting to snap up what looks like a great deal, especially when demand is high, but if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.”

Davies continued: “Demand for the Oasis tour has been huge, and we’ve already helped fans resell and buy several thousand tickets safely through our website and app. With the UK dates still months away, it’s inevitable that some ticket holders’ plans change. Twickets offers a safe, fair way for fans to pass on tickets at face value, without the inflated prices that don’t benefit artists or event organisers.”

Twickets has previously partnered with both Noel and Liam Gallagher on their solo tours, and has been used by leading artists including Ed Sheeran, Elton John and Stormzy. Since launching in 2011, the platform has built a reputation as the ethical alternative to other resale sites, helping millions of fans access sold-out gigs without falling prey to scalpers.

For those still hoping to attend the tour, Davies advises fans to remain vigilant, and patient.

“When looking for resale tickets, timing is crucial. Most listings appear closer to the event, especially in the final week. We often see last-minute listings pop up even on the event day itself. If tickets are marked ‘accepting offers,’ that’s often a great opportunity to negotiate and get a fair deal.”

He adds: “Being flexible and quick to act is the best way to land a ticket at a good price.”

Joel Hawkins, 19 and from Sunderland, was the first person to buy Oasis tickets on resale through Twickets. He said:

“I managed to buy tickets for the Heaton park gig on Friday the 11th of July which was one of my most wanted dates that I originally tried to buy.

“The tickets are for my girlfriend and I, this is very special to us as we are both massive Oasis fans and have seen both Liam and Noel separately on their solo tours together numerous times.

“I’ve been an Oasis fan for as long as I can remember as all through my life I’ve grown up on their music through my parents and other family members whether that be in the car, at home, on tv or at family parties. That has led me to become a huge fan collecting their vinyl records and constantly listening to them now in my own car and every other chance I can get!

“I can’t wait to be part of that crowd in Heaton park I’ve watched hundreds of videos of past Oasis gigs and the crowds and atmosphere always looks absolutely incredible they’re always so packed and constantly bouncing and that’s something that I’ve always wanted to be part of so to be able to say that in July I’ll be there in the middle of it all still doesn’t feel real to me. I can’t wait to finally be able to see both brothers singing together on songs such as ‘Acquiesce’ as it’s one of my favourite ever songs and finally seeing them sing together again will be surreal.”

The sold out Oasis tour kicks off on the 4th July in Cardiff, concluding in Brazil on the 23rd November.
