Have you gotten your social media makeover yet? Everyone else on the Internet sure has. Please see below:
1- “Let’s Fly” #newnewtwitter
I think the new Twitter takes the crown this week, tweeps. It’s pretty, organized, and its updated app is worth bragging about too. In a manner similar to Facebook, it lets users find what they want fast and easy with the implemenation of this header:
^As you can see, it really does resemble Facebook here. Not that that’s bad though. Plus, Facebook certainly gets away with mimicking other platforms. Without a doubt, however, Twitter’s new look is fresh and welcoming. So I’m happy to spend more time communicating in 140 characters, as if I wasn’t already. But to really embrace what it’s all about you have to try yourself. Trust me, you’ll soon forget what the #newtwitter revealed last year was.
2-More Facebook Ranting….Coming Soon
See how awesome my Facebook page looks? Yours will look like this soon, too! It’s called Timeline, and it was revealed during Facebook’s f8 conference a few months ago.
This week, news outlets acknowledged that this particular update would be made permanently to all users starting now…gradually. So don’t worry if you haven’t seen the change yet. Just get your angry statuses ready in the meantime.
I really love it though. Timeline is all about personalization and recording your history in a very cool way. With a new sidebar, the years that you’ve been on Facebook are highlighted. By clicking on any of these, you can view your most notable Facebook activity. Yes, it’s creepy that Facebook has been holding onto everything we’ve posted, liked, and tagged ourselves in, but it’s a mechanism for what social media is all about in this age: storytelling. Something that everyone loves.
3-Wordpress Too, Got Another Facelift
Bloggers have needs too, people.
Can’t let us see great innovations on other sites and then not find ways to improve our most cherished platform, afterall. Lo and behold, then, WordPress 3.3– an updated software that like everyone else, knows that in order to stay in the game, users’ ease and satisfaction when using social media is priority #1.
What’s awesome about this update? Drag and drop media uploads. You can kind of see how it works in the photo above, though my screenshooting abilities leave room for desire. The point is, though, that uploading pictures and videos on WordPress has always been annoying, but this new update is worthwhile because it addresses this issue. Approved.
Let’s hear it. What do you think of these updates?
