Windermere

Buttermere
The beauty with Buttermere, is that you can easily walk around the whole of the lake in just a few hours. Some of the terrain does require a good pair of walking boots, but the views are stunning, and you might even spot a highland cow.

Pooley Bridge

The walk takes three hours, but advanced walkers could double that by heading back the way they came for a second pitstop at The Crown Inn.
Elterwater
For rustic dining and fantastic views, start at the Britannia Inn in Elterwater before heading towards Crag Head and Skelwith Bridge.
There are plenty of stunning views to take your breath away and you can round back to The Britannia Inn for a refreshing drink in the garden.
Ambleside
The Lake District hot spot, Ambleside offers beautiful scenery and an opportunity to visit the historic Wray Castle and the opportunity to enjoy lunch or just drinks at the Outgate Inn.
Enjoy the pub at the end of your walk or reverse the walk to enjoy lunch a short way in so you’re full of energy for this two hour walk.
