We all love a good comeback right? How about a popular soap opera star coming back? Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last few months or not watching BBC in the past two weeks you might not know that Sharon (Letitia Dean) is making a return to Eastenders.
In the midst of my Olympic watching (hasn’t it been awesome?) I spotted the trailer and even I was “Oh wow” after it. How simple my life has become these days…
I used to be quite an avid soap opera watcher and then well I wasn’t. I don’t know what happened but in the last few years I would say at most I dabble. It’s not hard to pick up what’s going on in any of them and apparently I can form into a soap opera expert within seconds. It’s not difficult!
Sharon was first in Eastenders when I was watching soaps more and I was gripped by the love triangle between herself and the Mitchell brothers Phil and Grant.
Apparently this comeback is somewhat whirlwind with lots of plots waiting to be tied up, in particular Heather’s murderer. Wait, what, Heather is dead? See, that shows how much I have been paying attention to Eastenders. There’s something going on with Kat and lots of people trying to work out if Sharon could be Cora’s daughter, I don’t even know who Cora is!
I’m a total sucker for trailers and probably most of you have looked at the above trailer and not been excited at all. I know I’m probably in the minority on this one but my excitement did drop. In a random skype chat with DW head honcho Peter he was surprised at my excitement and then told me that it’s on seven times this week. SEVEN!
That’s a whole lot of commitment to see Sharon come back. I’m not quite sure I’ll manage it…
Sharon is back tonight on BBC One.
