Joseph Gordon-Levitt is back again ladies and gentlemen, and this time he’s in a bit of a rush. A PREMIUM RUSH! (Like what I did there?). Yes the man who is never off our screens is back once again in this David Koepp (Ghost Town) directed action flick about a bike messenger in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) stars opposite Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) and Dania Ramirez (American Reunion) as Wilee, a New york bike messenger who unknowingly picks up a package of great value which eventually leads him on a mad chase through New York. Dirty cop Bobby Monday (Shannon) needs the package to clear his gambling debts, you see where this is going?
The film is absolutely jam-packed with action sequences as Wilee and his trusty no-brakes bike hurtle through the bustling streets of Manhattan pursued by one of the NYPD’s (un)finest. Some of the plot might feel familiar and it may take the standard chase movie route, but if you just sit back and enjoy the ride you will not be disappointed.
