For those of you who didn’t know, Alex Cross is the creation of author James Patterson. He’s stared in two movies prior to this one (Kiss the Girls, Along Came the Spider), with Morgan Freeman taking up the role. He’s appeared in twenty books in total, meaning there is plenty of sequel fodder should this adaption be successful. He’s one of the literary world’s most loved protagonists and is back for a series reboot in the film named after the man, Alex Cross.
Taking up the role of Dr Cross is Tyler Perry (I can do bad all by myself) as Cross investigates a rather intense serial killer, played by Matthew Fox (Lost). Fox plays ‘Picasso’, a former special forces soldier turned total nut-job who spends his spare time seducing and torturing women. Other big names in the flick are John C McGinley (Scrubs), Ed Burns (Man on a Ledge) and Jean Reno (Leon). The trailer looks like a decent cop thriller with added action and a sprinkling of CGI.
