The best part about summer hair is that after a day at the beach you can easily turn your hair into a party style within minutes. Make use of that beach texture you get after letting your hair dry naturally after a swim in the sea!
All you need is:
- Dry Shampoo
- Salt spray
- Hairspray
- Clip in hair extensions (optional)
- Hair straighteners or curling wand (if needed)
Step 1: The best way to get that natural beach texture is to spray a little salt spray on damp hair. Scrunch and twist random sections of hair to get that ‘piecey’ look. Leave to air dry. This look is easy to do even at the beach – if you’ve just had a dip in the sea, the salt water will give you great texture!
Step 2: Once you’re finished at the beach, it’s time to turn your beach waves into the perfect party style while keeping that laid back holiday vibe. Use a dry shampoo to freshen up the roots and help to absorb any oil. The dry shampoo can also give you some extra volume and grip too!
Step 3: If you do need a little extra help with the beach waves, using hair straighteners or a curling wand, loosely curl sections of hair. To get the beach look, concentrate on curling the mid-section of hair, leaving the very tips straight.
Step 4: Once your hair is dry and you’ve curled any pieces that you need to, add another spritz of salt spray to give those curls the same texture as the rest of your hair – it will also make them look like natural waves so no one has to know you have used a curling wand!
Step 5: The ultimate beach party style has to be long locks, which paired with beach waves is the ultimate holiday look. To get extra length and volume, add some clip in hair extensions. Place the hair extensions in layers, keeping a layer of your own hair in between each piece of hair extension to make them blend into your natural hair. Remember, you can place these where you need them to adapt to any style. Fancy a side braid? Move them a little over to one side to conceal the clips. Or how about a high ponytail? Use the extensions to wrap around the base of a small ponytail in the centre of the head and use the rest of your natural hair surrounding that small ponytail to make one big ponytail and hide the clips – instant volumized ponytail!
Step 6: If the hair extensions are straight, use a heat defence spray and curl them just like you would your natural hair (make sure you get 100% human hair extensions). Again, leave the tips of the hair straight to make the look more natural.
Step 6: Once the clip in extensions are in place, either leave the hair down in gorgeous mermaid-like waves, or add braids to give a summer vibe. Spray with hairspray to keep in place all night long!
