If you’ve recently bought a new bikini, it is pretty natural that you want the opportunity to wear it somewhere as soon as possible. For the adventurous there’s always the option of wearing it somewhere exotic too! So to help you out, here are six types of vacations you should pack a bikini for!
#1 Beach Vacation
This goes without saying. If you are at the beach somewhere exotic, such as the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or elsewhere, then a bikini is a must if you want to be able to soak up some sun. One-piece swimsuits cover much skin. As a result, you’ll quickly find that a lot of your torso and some of your back may not get as much sun as it could. This will result in a less satisfying overall tan, so for maximum coverage, pack a bikini.
In particularly warm climes, wearing a two-piece suit also exposes more surface skin area to the air, which allows you to cool off faster after taking a dip in the ocean. It also allows more heat to escape, keeping you cooler when walking around in the sun. Use plenty of sunscreen, though, and wear a hat if you expect to be in the sun for very long.
#2 Cruise Vacation
Very usually a cruise ship has all sorts of activities to keep you entertained during the voyage, from dancing to dining to diving. However at some point during the vacation you will eventually just feel the urge to lay back and take a load off, and with nothing to do but see to your own leisure, why not take the opportunity to soak some rays? Every cruise ship will have dedicated sunning decks with plenty of sunbeds and places to laze under the sun, so packing a bikini will allow you to take advantage of the opportunity to tan.
#3 Camping Vacation
This may not seem immediately obvious, but camping spots do offer great opportunities to tan if you want to. If everyone is going on a hiking trip that you’re not particularly interested in, or you just have a few hours where you’re not doing much at all regardless, then you may actually have an excellent vacation you should pack a bikini for. Just set up a towel on a suitable patch of grass and read a book. Just make sure you use plenty of bug repellent to keep yourself from getting bitten.
You may also find yourself near a slow-running river or a lake. If that is the case, then you’ve come equipped to have a quick morning dip. Skinny-dipping is not for everyone, after all.
#4 City Vacations
Once again not an obvious choice, but you never know when you might come across an opportunity to strip down to a swimsuit. Many cities, particularly cities where temperatures can rise quite high, will have numerous splash fountains open to the public. Thus, you should pack a bikini if you want to take advantage of these and cool off. Even if none are available, every sizeable city will have public swimming pools, so hitting up one of these would help keep you chilled during particularly hot summer days,
#5 Spa Vacations
A spa vacation has relaxation and serenity as its central theme. So why wouldn’t you pack a bikini for one? Very often when in a spa you’ll be bathing in mud, unwinding in a hot tub, getting a message, or wrapped up in seaweed, anyway. It is best to dress up correctly for all that and allow yourself a chance to let your hair down.
#6 Summer Festivals
A summer festival is truly a chance to relax and celebrate, as well as express yourself without some of the usual inhibitions that usually surround polite society. In this instance a bikini, perhaps worn with a short skirt or a pair of shorts, is a great way to get into the spirit of the occasion. Many festivals may also leave you in places where you are standing around with not a whole lot to do. Wearing a bikini allows you to keep cool as well as fashionable, making them a solid garment choice.
