Power words are words that elicit some sort of an emotion from your readers. “Discover,” “free,” “killer,” and “breakthrough,” are all power words. If you were to close your eyes while I read those words to you, you would have a distinct image in your mind for each one. They make you feel something. Use power words when you write to make your readers feel something as a result of your article.
5. Use Headers and Sub-Headers
The human brain likes white space. It also likes to skim. By breaking up your writing with headers and sub-headers, you are creating a way for your readers to take in your information more easily. You’re also allowing them to skim the information if they so choose. And a skimmed article is better than an ignored article.
6. Involve Your Audience
When you’re writing a blog article, you want to maintain a casual writing style. Use the second person, and talk directly to your audience. Using words like “you” and “your” will draw your readers in and keep them engaged.
