Vancouver is really best when experienced outdoors, but there are things to do indoors as well.
In essence, there is something for everyone in Vancouver. Since Vancouver has a nice, temperate climate and plenty of rain, the outdoor spaces are lovely and lush. Stanley Park is one of the biggest outdoor attractions that will let you experience some of that lush and lovely scenery. If walking isn’t your thing, you can also take a scenic drive.

1. Stanley Park is found on a peninsula at the northwest area of downtown Vancouver. It’s one of their main tourist spots that attracts about 8 million visitors per year. Stanley Park features some nice beaches, dirt trails, and well-maintained paved roads. This park has an expanse of 1,000 acres, or 400 hectares and is considered one of the top urban parks in the world.
2. The Sea-to-Sky Highway is a scenic drive that takes you through some of the most amazing scenery you will ever see. Its official name is BC Highway 99 and it’s considered the area’s legendary route that takes you from Vancouver to Whistler and a little farther if you choose. You will enjoy incredible sights on every turn and you can get out at any of the fun stop areas, cultural points of interest, and historic sites along the way.
3. The Burnaby Village Museum and Carousel is like experiencing a 1920s village. It takes you back in time as you see the townsfolk dressed in period costumes and a range of shops from that era. You will see a blacksmith, a print shop, and a general store. It’s all part of the experience. Just don’t forget to take a turn on the carousel. It’s not just for kids.
4. The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre GMS Observatory gives you a look at the night sky without being outside. It shows you the constellations, stars, planets, and many other wonders of space. You can take a tour of the Space Centre and visit the observatory, or just see the observatory on your next visit to Vancouver.
5. The Shopping Districts of Yaletown, Robson Street, and Commercial Drive give tourists who love to shop the shopping trip of a lifetime. There are unique shops, shops with everyday items, and plenty of places to stop to eat or grab a drink to refresh yourself before you shop until you drop.
