Online discount toy retailer Bargain Max has looked into the best and worst Disney film sequels following the latest news of Hocus Pocus 2 coming to Disney+ in 2022!
Hocus Pocus originally came out on 29 October 1993 and since then, there has been no follow-up sequel to the iconic Halloween-themed blockbuster. Fans of the film have been calling out for a sequel since its first launch 28 years ago.
According to fans on Reddit, “Hocus Pocus is a movie that I rewatch over and over again every single year around Halloween time and it never gets old. It’s one of the most rewatchable movies ever and the ultimate Halloween time movie. And that makes it a timeless classic in my eyes.”
Whilst others are less than impressed, questioning the ability of Witches being able to come back from ‘dust’: “So how do they come back from dust? Bonus points if Mary upgrades to a cordless Dyson.”
Whilst another added:
“Just hoping they do something completely different from the sequel book. There were some…interesting choices made there.”
Finally, some feel social media could help bring them back:
“Some viral TikTok video gets millions of kids to do the forbidden Salem dance and song that brings them back.”

Toy Story 2 and Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest are amongst the top rated sequels for both animated and non animated movies. Whilst some of the worst by vote are The Jungle Book 2 and George of The Jungle 2.
The worst sequel is Son of The Mask 2 with a 68.11% decrease in rating compared to the original.

28 years we have been waiting, and the news of the sequel has caused quite the debate with some fans questioning the ability of a Witch to bounce back from being turned to dust as the story tells in the original!
