Whether you’re wanting to explore historical locations or enjoy a peaceful scenic stroll, L&G analysed TripAdvisor rankings to uncover the most loved cemeteries across the UK for your next day out:

  1. Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial tops the list – located in one of England’s most picturesque cities, this landmark cemetery commemorates those who fought during World War II. A unique day trip for history buffs and sightseers alike!
  2. Highgate Cemetery, North London ranks second – not only is this cemetery the burial site of various famous figures, it has gorgeous views of the capital, a cafe, gallery space, and hosts open-air concerts!
  3. Liverpool Cathedral rounds out the top three – the monumental Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is the biggest in Britain, and fifth largest in Europe, earning it’s spot as third-best cemetery to visit in England.
