The world’s most popular getting ready song is Escapism by RAYE featuring in a staggering 35% of all getting-ready playlists on Spotify. Singer-songwriter RAYE is a relative newcomer on the music scene and only 25 years old, but she’s already one of the most streamed artists in the world right now.
In second place and featuring in a huge 24% of all getting ready playlists is the pop hit from Nelly Furtado, ft Timbaland, Promiscuous, a song that was released almost 20 years ago in 2006. Nelly has more than 18 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
In third place is Sure Thing by American R&B singer Miguel, with it recently being propelled back into the music charts worldwide, all thanks to TikTok. A sped-up version of the song provides the soundtrack to a new dance craze on the platform – and the world is going crazy for it.
When delving into the findings, pop and R&B are the most popular genres across getting-ready songs. And when it comes to the artists that get us in the mood who else could be crowned the queen of getting ready but Rihanna. The queen of pop takes four spots in the top 20, followed by Nelly Furtado and neo-soul singer SZA, who both feature twice each.
