1. Craft a wicked witch’s cauldron
This hack takes just two items – it’s super simple but creates the perfect spooky look for any Halloween décor.
Grab a diffuser and a witch’s cauldron, pop the diffuser in the cauldron and let the mist ooze out – creating an eerie prop to add to your decoration list. If you want to go one step further, opt for a diffuser that changes colour to really wow your guests.
2. Make a ghoooulish candle
Make a night of it with the kids or your closest friends, stick on a Halloween hits playlist, get out the snacks and make some haunting ghost candles. All you need is some long, thin paraffin candles, a marker pen, and hot tap water.
Run your tap until the water is at its hottest temperature, and carefully fill a deep dish until it’s nearly full. Leave the candles in the water for 10 minutes, switching for fresher and hotter water around the 5-minute mark, once the first water bath has begun to cool. Leave the candles in the water and, once it is at room temp, begin shaping them into wiggly, ghost like shapes.
Once this is done, take them out of the water bath, laying them on a towel to dry and set. Lastly, draw some simple, ghoulish faces on and place them around the house. A creepy yet cute upgrade to the humble candle.
3. Hang some creepy bodyless legs
You can have this DIY decoration sorted in a matter of minutes, and you may have most of the items needed knocking around already – tin foil, cling film, tights, and a pair of heels.
Wrap your legs – up to just above your knee – with tin foil, making sure it’s nice and compact and takes the shape of your leg. Remove the cast, stuffing the bottom of it with cling film so it holds. Pull some tights over the cast, stick on some heels, and dangle them from the ceiling or over a banister – easy but perfectly creepy.
