This re-imagined cover of “No Matter What” captures the heart wrenching essence of the original while also providing a fresh feel, featuring a strikingly sincere and mesmerizing vocal performance from non-binary Mae Mae. This minimalist piano-vocal-strings version sheds a new light on the autobiographical lyrics Toby and Callum Scott wrote about his painful coming-out experience. Mae Mae and their dad Toby Gad have performed “No Matter What” at several concerts in London at venues such as The Shoreditch Treehouse, The historic Kings Cross Clock Tower, The Plesterer’s Hall and the legendary Metropolis Studio in Chiswick. A performance and lyric video of the Metropolis Studio session in London to complement the release is already in production and set to be released on Monday, October 21st.
