In order to celebrate this impressive figure, PokerStars have launched their ‘Road to 100 Billion’ promotion and, before you start thinking you will have to wait for another 10 billion hands to play out, they will be marking every milestone million with some cold, hard cash. Players who are dealt into milestone million hands between 89,700,000,000 and 90,000,000,000 will see a big boost to their bankrolls.
Here is how it works: if you are lucky enough to be dealt into a milestone hand your prize will be calculated based on how many VIP Player Points (VPPs) you have managed to generate while at the table. VPPs are earned based on how much you contribute to a raked pot. PokerStars therefore advises that if you want a cut of the cash, you should loosen up and get into the game. Also, players should bear in mind that the more tables they play at and the longer they participate in a game will increase their chances of being dealt into that elusive milestone hand.
The 90 billionth hand is expected to be dealt within the next week and the player who manages to win will pocket at least $20,000. The more VPPs the winner has, the bigger this figure will be.
Back in August, the 85 billionth hand was played out at PokerStars with over $93,000 being divided between the very lucky six players. Before the game started the collective prize pot was worth a measly 12 cents. However, when that hand hit thousands of dollars were up for grabs. The winner, ‘som6873’ left the table with $26,300 for winning the game, which carried a buy-in cost of $0.02 / $0.05.
