With rising hot temperatures predicted this week, online retailer IWOOT has undertaken some research to uncover the UK’s popular Prosecco cocktails to cool down with.
To determine the rankings, we used keyword research tool Ahrefs and looked at monthly search volume data for prosecco cocktails. We took this list and looked at the number of photos on Instagram that feature the name of the cocktail as well as associated hashtags. We then combined the numbers to get our total, before cutting down to the top 5 UK’s most popular Prosecco cocktails.
Whilst any time is a good time for some prosecco, it reaches its peak during the festive season according to Google search trends.
Coming in at number five is St Germain. This drink, contrary to its name, will not bring you any closer to sainthood. This cocktail has a lot of fizz as well as vodka and gin in just one drink. Perfect for any occasion, and a fantastic change from the ordinary.
Pornstar Martini comes in fourth place. This prosecco-infused drink is a tropical fan’s dream.Served with vanilla vodka, Passoã, passionfruit juice, lime juice and a shot of prosecco, this drink is the perfect cocktail for a celebration.
In third place is Negroni Sbagliato. Swapping gin for prosecco, this cocktail makes for a lighter Negroni and reduces the bitterness. An ideal drink for someone who find the classic Italian cocktail a bit too strong.
Coming in at second place is the orange-hued, Aperol Spritz. Made with aperol, prosecco, soda water, slices of orange and ice, this colourful beverage makes the ultimate cooling summer tipple.
Taking first place as UK’s most popular prosecco cocktail of choice is the Mimosa. Similar to the classic Mimosa, a prosecco Mimosa is made with prosecco instead of champagne. Recognised as the perfect drink of choice, this orange juice, cointreau, and prosecco cocktail was so popular; one of the most popular Instagram hashtags is #mimosaseveryday, which we can definitely get behind.
