Interestingly, people aged 65+ reported to have participated in this tradition more than any other age group (66%). On the other hand, 18-24 year old’s had done this the least, with a whopping 74% of people never kissing under the mistletoe.

Choosing the right mistletoe is crucial. Opt for fresh plump berries and vibrant green leaves on your mistletoe, and look for bundles that have healthy looking stems and minimal signs of wilting.

Mistletoe thrives in cool conditions, so to maintain its freshness, keep it away from direct sunlight and sources of heat, such as your radiator. Placing it in a cool room or near a humidifier is a great way to preserve it for longer.
Ensure regular hydration
Mistletoe, like any other plant, requires regular moisture to stay alive. A good way to keep your plant hydrated is to lightly mist it with water every few days to prevent it from drying out.
Trim the leaves
Trim any wilting or discoloured leaves to keep the mistletoe looking fresh and vibrant, and remove any berries that start to shrivel or discolour, as this can accelerate the decay of the entire plant.
