  • Fact meets gameplay: Each card reveals whether the figure achieved or failed, died or survived, transforming real and imagined acts of betrayal and assassination.

As the nation debates who can be trusted on the hit show Celebrity Traitors, Top Trumps has launched a timely new Limited Edition card game that lets players put their own bluffing skills to the test.

Traitors & Assassins Top Trumps brings 30 of history’s most infamous figures to the table – from notorious traitors to deadly assassins, in a fast-paced battle of wits, deception and fascinating facts. Each card is packed with gripping historical details, dramatic stories and clever comparisons, turning centuries of real-world intrigue into an addictive, informative game.

Half the pack features a striking portrait of the traitor or assassin, plus a photograph of their target – along with key stats including Year of AttackAgeRangeAudacity, and Impact on the World. Players can instantly see whether their subject Achieved or Failed in their mission, giving each match a powerful narrative twist and a built-in history lesson.

Another clever twist in the other half of the pack, features the targets themselves, creating new layers of gameplay. If a Traitor or Assassin card comes face to face with their Target during a round, the outcome of history decides the result. Players must instantly hand over their card if the assassin failed and the target survived, but if the assassin achieved their mission, the target must surrender their card regardless of the stats. This unique “Traitor vs Target” rule adds surprise, suspense, and strategy to every game, making each round feel like a live historical showdown.

From Guy Fawkes to Lee Harvey Oswald to fictional figures like The Jackal, every round combines strategy, competition and discovery. Players can pit assassins against each other in categories, or see how modern names compare to history’s most infamous plotters.

One of the most talked-about cards in the set is Donald Trump’s would-be assassinThomas Matthew Crooks – the 20-year-old whose failed attempt to assassinate the former US President in 2024 shocked the world. His card captures the tension of that real-life moment, featuring Crooks’ profile alongside a photograph of his target. The “Outcome” category lists Failed, reminding players that not every plot changes history – but every story makes for an unforgettable round.

Another powerful pairing in the pack features Mark Chapman and his target, John Lennon. The cards capture one of the most shocking moments in modern history, when Lennon’s life was cut short outside his New York home in 1980. Chapman’s card records him as an Assassin who Achieved his mission, while Lennon’s is marked as a Target who Died, with both showing mirrored portraits of each other. When these two cards meet, the “Traitor vs Target” rule gives this tragic historical event a tense new dimension within the game’s storytelling.

Among the most striking pairings in the pack are Judas Iscariot and Jesus Christ, perhaps history’s most famous betrayer and target. Their cards show how betrayal and consequence are woven into the storytelling of this edition, with Judas marked as a Traitor who Achieved his mission, and Jesus listed as his Target who Died. Both cards include their key stats, a portrait, and cross-referenced images of each other, allowing the “Traitor vs Target” mechanic to come dramatically to life. When these two cards meet in play, history dictates the outcome, making it one of the most memorable matchups in the entire set.

Compact, portable and endlessly replayable, Traitors & Assassins Top Trumps makes history thrilling for kids, teens and adults alike – whether you’re learning on a long car journey, hosting a family game night, or testing your knowledge with friends.

Available now on Amazon (RRP £10), this limited edition taps perfectly into the UK’s current fascination with loyalty, lies and strategy – offering a chance to become the ultimate Top Trumps champion without betraying a single soul.
