It may seem strange but from a psychological point of view, I always feel better and have more confidence when I take a bit of time on my looks, hair, face, clothes and my personal presentation. Now I know that this might sound vain, but I’m not vain nor do I think that I am stunning or gorgeous. This is merely a feel good technique – which works. Give it a try.
I’m sure that I am not the only person that uses this method. This is why there are so many products for grooming yourself, maintaining good health and being as beautiful as you can because it makes you feel better and we all deserve to feel good. If you are beautiful on the inside then assist your beauty to shine on the outside.
Looking good gives you an ego boost, an air of confidence and people will naturally be attracted to you. People want to surround themselves with positivity.
Here are some easy ways to boost your confidence:-
- Keep yourself well groomed – Everyone has parts of their body that they dislike or have a problem with, it’s natural. But it’s about making the best of what you have got. Brush and floss your teeth, have confidence in your smile. A smile can go a long way and is infectious. Try it yourself. When you are out and about, just smile you will definitely get some positive reactions. Look after your hands and nails. Make sure that you look after your personal hygiene, wash regularly. You could be wearing really plain clothes, but if you look clean, you are looking good!
- Have a laugh – Don’t take yourself too seriously. People respond to a happy go lucky natures. Make some time to laugh. Get together with some friends. When talking to people on the phone or in person – smile (Obviously if it’s not appropriate to smile, don’t).
- When you wear clothes that make you feel good, you look good. Your confidence transfers to the way you look. Work it like Beyonce because she could make a black sack look good. It is all about attitude. Certain clothes will assist you with that feel good factor and people can see when you have it! Have fun with your look and create your own style. If you wear it with confidence – You’ll pull it off!
- Take care of your skin as you will be together for a long time! It is nice to pamper yourself once in a while, cleanse, tone and moisturise, get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. These are ways to ensure that your skin stays healthy. Not only does a pamper make you feel good but it makes you look good too. This will surely give you a boost.
- Take care of you, eat a balanced diet so you get all of your vitamins and exercise as this releases endorphins that make you feel good. Keep your mind busy and do things that make you feel good and do things that make others feel good as it is important that positivity spreads!
- Learn to accept compliments, this can be hard to do for some people but it is easy. Just say thanks. Don’t feel awkward as people don’t usually give compliments unless they mean them (and if you feel that they are perhaps not being genuine – still say thanks and pretend that they were being complimentary – Feed your positive!)
- Treat yourself occasionally, A little self-indulgence is good for you, whether it is a new nail polish or that new pair of shoes that you have been eyeing up, or that piece of jewellery that will go with that dress you want to wear on the hot date that you acquired from smiling and oozing positivity!
